Wireless Intertainment Computer
The Cybiko was a handheld computer released in 2000–2001, aimed at teenagers as a mix of PDA, game console, and wireless communicator. It featured a monochrome LCD, tiny QWERTY keyboard, and a built-in 900 MHz radio that let users chat, send email, and play multiplayer games within a few hundred feet. Software could be loaded from a PC, and hundreds of free games and apps were available, many created by indie developers.
While it built a small, devoted community, it was overshadowed by cell phones and handheld consoles like the Game Boy Advance, making it more of a quirky cult device than a mainstream success.
