Kid Pix is a bitmap drawing program for children, created by Craig Hickman and first released in 1989, then published by Brøderbund. Its wacky brushes, animated rubber stamps and the dynamite tool that blew up your drawing made it a fixture of 1990s elementary school computer labs. The point was never a perfect picture — it was that making one was fun. The Japanese release carried the name in katakana — キッド ピクス.
