Microsoft Plus! was a $49.99 add-on pack that went on sale alongside Windows 95 in August 1995, aimed at anyone with a 486, 8 MB of RAM and strong opinions about their desktop. It added desktop themes, font smoothing and full-window drag, the DriveSpace 3 compression tool, the System Agent scheduler, the Space Cadet pinball table and the Internet Jumpstart Kit, which is where Internet Explorer 1.0 first shipped. The Plus! line carried on through Windows XP. Its codename during development was Frosting. Windows was the cake.
