About Neko

Neko is a desktop toy in which a small cat chases your mouse pointer around the screen, then curls up and sleeps when it catches you, and wakes again the moment you move. It was written for the NEC PC-9801 in the late 1980s and has since been ported to X11, the Macintosh, Windows and very nearly everything else — one of the most re-implemented pieces of software ever written.

This hat

Chase down your own adventures. Neko was more than just a pixelated pet — this hat celebrates the desktop cat who was always by your side.
