Rygar is a 1986 platform game developed and published by Tecmo for arcades. You play a "Legendary Warrior" working through level after level armed with the Diskarmor — a razor-edged shield on a long chain that flies out and returns like a yo-yo — on the way to defeating the dominator Ligar. The 1987 NES version reworked it into a larger, part-open adventure and is the one most Americans remember.
