FuncoLand was a used-game retail chain founded in Minnesota in 1988, built on taking in old cartridges, testing them and putting them back on the shelf with the trade-in prices posted on the wall. It grew to hundreds of stores through the 1990s. In 2000 it was bought and merged with Babbage's Etc., and the combined chain became GameStop.
